We’re thrilled to announce that this year’s Cherington Show will feature a special performance by the Avening Bell Ringers, who will be pealing the Cherington Church bells at 3pm. 🎉

This talented group from our neighbouring village are passionate supporters of the show and are sure to create a beautiful, uplifting sound that will ring across the countryside and bring a true sense of occasion to the afternoon.

🛎️ Have a Go!Ever wondered what it’s like to be a bell ringer? Between 3pm and 4pm, visitors will have the rare chance to try bell ringing for themselves under expert supervision. It’s a fantastic opportunity for all ages to experience the art and skillbehind this ancient tradition.

📜 A Bit About Bell Ringing:Bell ringing, or change ringing, is a uniquely British tradition that dates back to the 16th century. Rather than playing tunes, bell ringers perform mathematical sequences of changes, creating rich, rhythmic patterns. It’s a combination of teamwork, timing, and physical skill, and the sound of church bells is woven into the fabric of village life across the country.

Cherington Church’s bells have rung out for celebrations, weddings, and community gatherings for generations, and we’re proud to showcase this tradition as part of the show.

🎶 Make sure to listen out—and even take part—for a truly special village experience that links us to centuries of history!
